Sofiуa Кhostelidi, MD, Professor, is an infectious diseases specialist at the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I.Mechnikov (St. Petersburg, Russia) and a visiting professor at the M.F. Vladimirsky Moscow Regional Research Clinical Institute (Moscow, Russia). Dr. Кhostelidi has been working in mycology since 2005 and has authored numerous publications on mycology, two book chapters, and over 12 mycology manuals. She teaches medical students, residents, postgraduate students, and physicians in advanced training courses. She has experience leading research in clinical mycology, including the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory fungal infections, as well as invasive fungal infections. Research conducted under Professor Khostelidi supervision has been awarded first-degree diplomas at international congresses.
Dr. Кhostelidi is a member of public organizations: the International Public Organization “Euro-Asian Society of Infectious Diseases,” IACMAC (IA Clinical Microbiology & Antimicrobial Resistance), and the Alliance of Clinical Chemotherapists and Microbiologists. Professor Кhostelidi is the developer and author of an online course on clinical mycology (in Russian) and a participant in the international projects ESCMID and ISHAM.
Professor Кhostelidi is a member of the Academic Council of the P.N. Kashkina (St. Petersburg, Russia) and Deputy Chairman of the Scientific and Problem Commission “Epidemiology, Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Infectious (Bacterial, Viral, Mycotic, Parasitic, and Healthcare-Related) and Some Non-Infectious Diseases” at the I.I. Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University (St. Petersburg, Russia).
S.N. Khostelidi is Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the scientific and practical journal “Problems of Medical Mycology” (published in Russian).
