Anne-Pauline Bellanger has a pharm doctor and PhD specialized in mycology and currently she is working at the Mycology-Parasitology Department of the University Hospital of Besancon, France. Her work is more precisely focused on the diagnosis by molecular biology of invasive mold diseases (IMD) such as invasive aspergillosis, mucormycosis and fusariosis. Her team was among the first to develop and apply a proactive strategy of IMD screening including the A. fumigatus qPCR that was recognised by the EORCT/ MSG criteria in 2020 and the Mucorales qPCR that is still not included by the EORTC/ MSG criteria but was validated by the MODIMUCOR study (2022) and the Fungal PCR Initiative group (2021).
